<Love makes the sky and the heavenly
constellations move>,says Dante . And
hence in this boundless realm of
sempiternal loves we have attuned our
instruments to extol the cosmos and the
sublime creator who bestows existence. |

We
dedicate the second album of "Sol music" to the
music lovers who have reached beyond themselves
with a deep spiritual insight. This time, like
the first album, we started with Corelli. A
violinist himself, He represented a new harmonic
language and a modern compositional style and
founded the classicism in playing the violin. We
will perform more of his works in the folowing
albums.
G. B. Vitali (b.1632 in Bologna) was a
violinist. Corelli and Purcel regarded his works
as a compositional model. By performing three
partitas of his works,"Sol Music" illustrates
the effective role of this famous composer in
the development and transformation of this
musical Form . Vitali died in Modena in 1692. In
comparison to Corelli,Vitali's compositions have
many different qualities of color and texture.
Sergei Rachmaninoff, the great Russian composer,
was born in 1873. He composed many pieces during
his life. Russian Rock is composed by G. Cobb
and arranged by D. Ash on a prelude by
Rachmaninoff. Rachmaninoff was an admirer of
Tchaikovsky and faithfully believed in melody. A
special richness and purity is remarkable in his
works. His music is exciting, intimate and full
of emotions. He passed away in 1943.
Camille Saint-Saens was born in Paris in 1835.
He was a skilled organist and pianist. Liszt,
Berlioz and Bulow admired his works. Among his
pupils were Faure, Magne, and Gigout. Saint-Seans
was among the founders of the national music
society which held the duty of supporting the
new music of France and the world. He has left
behind many eternal works. "Arab dance", which
is composed for a string trio is one of these
works. Saint-Seans died in Algeria in 1921 at
the age of 87. He was passionately interested in
philosophy, theatre, archeology and painting and
had a good taste in writing.
"Sol-Music" is determined to present music
enthusiasts with more works in its future
publications.
